My Pinterest DIY projects
Gallery Wall -- This was one of my first Pinterest projects. We bought a new home and I needed a place to display my rotating family pictures and hate the idea of nailing into the wall. Yes, it's a little cluttered, but I just can't bear to take any of them down.
Photo Canvas -- Again, this was created when I needed a large piece of art. I basically went outside and took this picture right next to the house. I placed the leaf strategically. I was looking for some red accent to match the red in my living room. Then I sent off the photo to Mpix and they created a huge (and expensive) gallery-wrapped canvas for me. This was quite a few years ago. If only I knew then, what I know now!

Random Dot Canvas -- I am soooo NOT an artist, but I needed a piece of art for my living room. There were several walls that needed to be filled and I wasn't finding anything I liked or could afford in the stores. After seeing this on Pinterest, I knew I could tackle this project. Just bought a selection of acrylic paints, had a lot of fun mixing the colors and dipped some round sponges and dotted the canvas. I also took the advice of the Pinterest tutorial and bought an acrylic paint pen to draw the branches. So easy. In fact my eight-year-old son, Elijah, did a few as well. Don't be afraid of this one. You can't mess it up.
Bedroom Canvas Art -- Okay, this piece of art is one that I am super proud of. Remember I said I was NOT an artist......well.....I think I faked my way through this one pretty well. This one was a tutorial I found online I think. And I did this one from scratch from making a grid pattern, sketching the tree and layering all the elements as I went. I did feel like an artist as I was creating this one. It hangs in our bedroom way above our bed. We have really really tall vaulted ceilings and it needed to be big.
